How to get a Canadian permanent residence visa?

Citizens of other countries who are not Canadian citizens can live in Canada by obtaining a permanent residence permit. "And how to do it?" "What are the instructions to follow?" You can find answers to your questions in this blog post.

Collect and organize your documents

Before applying, you need to collect the necessary documents.

Also note that if your application is incomplete, i.e. you do not include documents and information, then your application will be returned to you via email. Therefore, you must complete your application completely and carefully. You should also ensure that you upload your documents and information in the format required of you. To do this, you need to enter the following information:

  • all information required in the checklist for the main applicant and dependents
  • forms filled by the main applicant
  • all supporting documents required of you

If your documents are not in English or French, you must post a translation of your documents in these languages. You can have your translations done by someone who is fluent in both languages or Canadian certified translators.

Note: if you have not had your documents translated by Canadian certified translators, the person who did so must attach a document confirming their knowledge and the accuracy of the translation.

Complete your application

To complete your application, you must first create and log in to the permanent residence online application portal. You must then complete the appropriate forms by clicking on the appropriate form. Some forms must be completed via the web, while others must be completed by downloading and filling out the PDF versions.

You must complete the following forms online for yourself or each of your family members over 18 years of age:

  • General Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
  • Schedule A – General Information/Declaration (IMM 5669)
  • Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
  • Additional information - Your travels (IMM 5562)

You must download and complete the following PDF forms:

You do not need to sign these forms. You are required to upload them to the online application.

As the main applicant, you will electronically sign the entire application, including your family members:

  • Document Checklist (IMM 5690)
  • Table 4: Economic Classes – Provincial Nominee (IMM 0008 – Table 4)
  • Schedule 4A: Economic Classes: Business Nominees – Provincial Nominees [IMM 0008 SCHEDULE 4A] (if applicable)

It is important that you pay attention to the accuracy of the information you provide. Providing false information is considered a serious offense and you may be held liable.
