What processes do you have to go through when you marry a Canadian citizen?

When you get married, you will be asked for some documents. Couples should write an application to the consulate that they want to get married. This application must be signed at the time of submission of documents. Also, a document confirming the identity of the persons to be married, a document confirming the identity of the witnesses, and health documents indicating that the persons to be married do not have any mental or physical obstacles that could prevent any marriage are required. Those who are going to get married must also submit their biometric photos taken within the last 6 months. Do you also get citizenship if you marry a Canadian citizen?

Also, when you apply for citizenship, you must have lived in Canada for at least 1,095 days in the 5 years preceding your application, according to the general requirements. This term includes:

If your child was born outside of Canada, what country is he considered a citizen of?

There are different rules for determining whether children of Canadians born outside Canada have Canadian citizenship.

Your child is a Canadian citizen if at least 1 parent of the child was born in Canada or was a Canadian citizen before the child was born.

But if your child is an adopted child born outside of Canada, your child will not automatically be considered a Canadian citizen. At this time, you must go through certain stages provided by law for citizenship.
